Ma nishtana halailah hazeh

מַה נִּשְׁתַּנָּה, הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה

(What makes this night different)

Mikol haleilot?

מִכָּל הַלֵּילוֹת

(from all other nights?)

Mi Chamocha, nedar bakodesh,

מִי כָּמֹכָה נֶאְדָּר בַּקֹּדֶשׁ

(Who is like You, glorious in holiness,)

nora t’hilot?

נוֹרָא תְהִלֹּתFe

(fearful in praises?)

Ma nishtana halailah…

מַה נִּשְׁתַּנָּה, הַלַּיְלָה

In the days we prepare for the seder

בימים אנו מתכוננים לסדר

It seems like we’ll never be done

נראה שלעולם לא נסיים

There’s more to clean than can ever be cleaned

יש יותר לנקות ממה שאי פעם אפשר לנקות

Grab a candle and search for the crumbs

קחו נר וחפשו את הפירורים

When the seder table is ready

כששולחן הסדר מוכן

And all the chametz has been found

וכל החמץ נמצא

Our family arrives, and the sun leaves the sky

המשפחה שלנו מגיעה, והשמש עוזבת את השמיים

At the table, we’ll gather around

ליד השולחן, נתאסף מסביב

For the seder tonight

לקראת הסדר הערב

Passover retold

פסח מסופר מחדש

With our prayers of hope

עם תפילות התקווה שלנו

Thanking G-d above

מודה לה’ למעלה

And the seder plate

וצלחת הסדר

Helps us tell our story

עוזר לנו לספר את הסיפור שלנו

The seder tonight

הסדר הערב

Now, Pharaoh, you’re a mighty king, but I’m telling you, beware

עכשיו, פרעה, אתה מלך אדיר, אבל אני אומר לך, היזהר

You come into my palace making threats, Moses, you dare?

אתה נכנס לארמון שלי מאיים, משה, אתה מעז?

Your days of making Jews your slaves are done forevermore

ימיך בהפיכתך היהודים לעבדים שלך תמו לנצח

And if you challenge G-d, ten plagues will shake you to your core

ואם תאתגר את ה’, עשר מכות יטלטלו אותך עד היסוד

I’m telling you, you’d best listen to me

אני אומר לך, עדיף לך להקשיב לי

Or G-d will bring your kingdom to its knees

או שה’ יביא את מלכותך על ברכיה

It’s time to let my people go, you see

הגיע הזמן לשחרר את האנשים שלי, אתה מבין

‘Cause we just can’t wait to be free
