In this hilarious scene, Kramer invites his friends, Jerry and George, to go with him to the beach and hit some golf balls into the ocean. Despite his enthusiasm, they are extremely apathetic.

Jerry: Yeah, I got it at the bank.
Kramer: Hey! Who wants to have some fun?
Jerry: I do.
George: I do.
Kramer: Now are you just saying you want to have fun or do you really want to have fun?
Jerry: I really want to have fun.
George: I’m just saying I want to have some fun.
Kramer: Right now, there are six hundred Titliest that I got from the driving range in the trunk of my car. Why don’t we drive out to Rockaway and hit them into the ocean. Now picture this, we find a nice sweet spot between the dunes, we take out our drivers, we tee up and “whoooo, that ball goes sailing up into the sky, holds there for a moment and then gluk.”
George: Come on, you want to go get some lunch?
Jerry: Yeah. Let me just stop by at the cash machine and I’ll meet you over at the coffee shop.
George: Yeah, I’m going to get a paper. Keep your head down.
Kramer: Yeah.

In this clip, we also learned how to ask the questions:
Are you just saying you want to have fun?
Do you really want to have fun?
These questions use stative verbs (say, want) and should both be in the present simple. The reason why Kramer used the “present progressive” form with the verb “say” is because he is responding to the actual action of his friends, in this case, it was what they were saying. Just so you know, Americans really like the phrase “What are you saying?” when somebody says something surprising.
Regarding the verb “want,” as a general rule, the stative verb “want” can never be used in the progressive form.
